FAQ
Which embroidery formats can I open?
DST, PES, JEF, EXP, HUS, SEW, VP3 and VP4. See Supported formats.
Can I save a project and reopen it later?
StitchMotion doesn't have its own project file — you open an embroidery file, style it, and export a video or image. To reuse a look, save it as a Preset.
My DST design opened with the wrong colors.
DST files don't store colors, so StitchMotion applies a default palette. Just recolor it — pick a thread catalog or set each color by hand.
My EXP file has no colors.
EXP files carry colors only in a companion .inf file. Keep the .inf next to the
.exp (same name) and StitchMotion will read the colors from it.
Why is my video limited to 20 seconds?
That happens in the Relief style, which renders every stitch individually. Switch to Lines for lengths up to 3 minutes.
How do I remove the watermark?
The watermark and the forced end card are part of the free tier. StitchMotion Pro removes them.
Do I need an account or internet connection?
No. StitchMotion runs entirely on your Mac — no account, no cloud, no subscription.
Is Pro a subscription?
No — it's a one-time purchase. Use Restore Purchases to unlock it on another Mac, and it works across your household via Family Sharing.
